东星社区疫情防控工作开展以来，在小区卡点上总是伫立着一个高大的身影，他总是热情饱满充满着干劲，面对每一位群众不厌其烦的重复着相同的动作：“你好，疫情防控期间，小区实行封闭，通行请先配合测量体温，做好登记,谢谢合作！”他就是东星社区抗疫工作志愿者——崔勇，吉林省劳动模范。崔勇今年46岁，是鼓风机厂一名普通工人，多年以来，他一直默默的参加社区的公益活动，是辖区居民眼中“特别”的居民。东星社区党委书记张艳平说：“每次社区的公益活动崔勇都会积极参加，他总是以一种高度的责任心参加活动，默默奉献，不求回报，是我们社区的“编外人员”，更是党员的代表，是我们学习的榜样。”
自东星社区防控疫情战役打响以来，崔勇主动请缨加入义务执勤值守队伍，不仅如此，面对东星社区辖区居民楼集中、工作量大的现状，他坚持全天候值守不倒班不换人，全力配社区卡点执勤，哪个卡点出现人员紧张他就出现在哪里！搬运防疫物品、入户消毒、人员防控无论任何岗位都有他辛勤工作的身影。他时常挂在嘴边的一句话就是“疫情就是命令，党员在任何时候不能忘记自己的职责和使命，群众哪里需要我们，我们的战场就在哪里！”
2月3日，铁东区新型冠状病毒感染肺炎疫情联防联控工作领导小组发布了《铁东区关于居民小区实行出行管控的公告》，对小区进行封闭管理，接到新任务后，他拿着流动广播设备深入45个楼道进行不间断宣传，反复播放《铁东区关于居民小区实行出行管控的公告》、张贴宣传标语、拉挂横幅，不仅如此，他还在微信群、朋友圈中发布政府的防疫措施和各项防疫措施。在自己做志愿服务的同时，还号召和发动更多的人参与到志愿者队伍工作中来，在他的呼吁下，越来越多的志愿者加入到疫情防控的一线中。
崔勇是一名普通的自愿者，但是他却践行着志愿者大爱无私的誓言，崔勇是一名普通的党员，但是他却践行着人民利益高于一切的誓言，他用自己的奉献在社区的抗疫阵地上竖起一面鲜艳的“红旗”，这面红旗一定会永远高高飘扬！
